Mi perro es bonito y pequeño.

In this section you will learn how to describe people both physically and mentally. Now, what verb did we learn in the beginning of the text to describe attributes? To identify someone/something? To indicate where something is from? If you guessed the verb ser then you are correct! Remember that ser is one of the verbs in Spanish that means “to be.” You will now use this to describe people and things, for example: Mi perro es bonito y pequeño. (My dog is beautiful and small). Again, something very important to consider is the gender and number of the adjectives. In the example above you can see that perro is masculine and singular and the adjectives that follow are also masculine and singular. As mentioned in Unidad 1, society has become more aware and sensitive to questions about gender and sexuality. If you or someone you want to describe would like to change their gender form of adjectives from their biological sex, inform your instructor so they are aware.
