Actividades: Verbos regulares de -er / -ir

A. Los estudiantes no tienen dinero

Habla con unos compañeros de clase sobre la vida de estudiantes en su universidad y otras. Trata de usar números específicos (Speak with some classmates about student life at your university and others. Try to use specific numbers).

1. ¿Beben los estudiantes café todos los días? ¿Dónde? ¿Cuánto cuesta una bebida?
2. ¿Viven los estudiantes en apartamentos o en campus? ¿Cuánto cuesta el alquiler? (the rent)
3. ¿Leen muchos libros? ¿Compran sus libros o alquilan (rent) sus libros? ¿Cuánto cuestan los libros? ¿Cuál clase tiene los libros más caros (expensive)?
4. ¿Comen los estudiantes en restaurantes o en la cafetería?? ¿Cuánto cuesta la cuenta? (the bill)
5. ¿Salen los estudiantes mucho durante el fin de semana? ¿Dónde? ¿Cuánto cuesta la cuenta? (the bill)
6. ¿Abren los estudiantes muchas cuentas (accounts) de internet? ¿Cuáles? (Netflix/Hulu/HBO etc.) ¿Cuánto cuesta en total?

B. Encuesta (survey)

You are doing a survey of student life and practices on your campus. Use the following questions to help you see what is trending amongst students and instructors.

Paso 1: Answer the following questions as they apply to you. Choose sí or no for each one. If you choose no, change the sentence a bit as necessary to make it true for you. Hint: the yo is always optional in these types of sentences.

Paso 2: Now using the verb deber, do a self analysis of two things you should do that would help you do better as a student. Note: deber is always followed by an infinitive.

Paso 3: Interview your partner. Ask your partner the same questions in the tú form. Be sure to change the verb! You may write the form of the verb in the blank. The first three have been done to help get you started. If you partner answers no, s/he should clarify what s/he does instead. For the last question, ask what your partner should do to have success as a student.

Paso 4: Based on your answers and your partner’s answers, write five generalizations about what “we” both do or don’t do. Watch out for those tricky -ir verbs in the nosotros form!
