Friday, January 27th

Topics:

  1. Creating Task Lists and Reminders in Outlook: Use these power tools in Microsoft Outlook (your email tool) to stay organized.
  2. Jamboard: A digital whiteboard that lets you collaborate in real-time using a web browser, mobile app, or Google’s Jamboard device.
  3. No Red Ink: An adaptive Learning tool that helps students improve their grammar and writing skills based on students’ interests and abilities.

Friday, February 24th

Topics:

  1. Hyperdoc: A tool you can use to create digital lesson plans for students.
  2. YuJa: A college-sponsored resource for uploading videos similar to YouTube for faculty and staff use in Blackboard courses and other projects where video resources are needed.
  3. Respondus Quiz Editor: If you have many quizzes you have created in Microsoft Word, use this tool to help you convert the quizzes into a format that can be imported into Blackboard.

Friday, March 31st

Topics:

  1. Visio: A tool to create visual diagrams
  2. Use of Microsoft Office 365 in Education: With Microsoft Office 365, the college has powerful, industry-standard tools that can be used to support student Learning. A showcase of how these tools can be used with students will be provided.
  3. Socrative: This app allows faculty to provide effective engagement via on-the-fly activities and Learning, along with giving direct feedback to students.

Friday, April 28th

Topics:

  1. Mentimeter: Allows real-life interaction with students via real-time voting, polls, wordle, and other activities.
  2. Kahoot: A game-based learning platform that allows faculty to create engaging quiz-based games that make learning fun for students. Quizzes can be taken on a computer or any smart device.
  3. Padlet: This allows learners to collaborate via an online poster board, which allows the posting of text, images, links, documents, video, and voice recordings.
