“No matter what people tell you, words and ideas can change the world.” — Robin Williams
This project came out of a partnership of colleges across the United States and Canada that incorporate the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals into developing renewable assignments that can be shared with others. Specifically, our work focuses on Goal 16, Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.
Three Classes – One Pressbook
Students wrote this book. They located themselves at the center of a world in need of healing. Then these oracles articulated urgent problems, and proposed powerful remedies.
An international social work class from Thompson Rivers University in British Columbia, Canada, a women’s and gender studies class from Montgomery College in Montgomery County, Maryland, and a writing course from Pima Community College in Tucson, Arizona, collaborated to create the work you’ll find here.
Our course activities were designed to extend beyond our class, connecting us with the real issues that affect us all personally, locally, and globally, as part of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and creating work that can be shared with others across the world.
