Using Blackboard Analytics to Support Student Engagement and Instruction – Spring 2024

According to Blackboard, “a well-designed learning environment can increase student engagement, decrease unnecessary cognitive load, and encourage self-reflection, but it can be difficult to know what works best, in which context, and for whom.” This session will explore Blackboard Analytics and how they can support the teaching and learning process. This session will provide practical tips and tricks using data to guide and inform instruction, from understanding individual student behavior to using analytics to establish and maintain instructor presence.

Outcomes:

  • Describe Blackboard Analytics’s role in supporting student engagement and instruction.
  • Understand how the instructor can use Blackboard analytics to engage students.
  • Analyze Blackboard analytics to support instructor’s understanding of student behavior.
  • Create a plan for using Blackboard analytics to support instructor/student engagement.
