Introduction
You are a part of a global effort to increase access to education and empower students through “open pedagogy.” Open pedagogy is a “free access” educational practice that places you – the student – at the center of your own learning process in a more engaging, collaborative learning environment. The ultimate purpose of this effort is to achieve greater social justice in our community in which the work can be freely shared with the broader community. This is a renewable assignment that is designed to enable you to become an agent of change in your community through the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). For this work, you will integrate the disciplines of International Relations; Marketing Intelligence; Cultural Studies to achieve SDG #4: Quality Education; Target 4.4.: By 2030, substantially increase the number of youth and adults who have relevant skills, including technical and vocational skills, for employment, decent jobs and entrepreneurship.

Purpose/Rationale
Digital Transformation is becoming a buzzword in the last couple of years, especially during and after the pandemic, where people all around the world benefitted from the students and teachers were still able to conduct learning experiences through virtual space. While it was not a groundbreaking experience, the global phenomenon shed some light on the disparities between those who come from developing countries vs developed countries. Students and teachers from developing countries living in rural areas would experience difficulties in enjoying the perks of online learning due to limited access and lack of infrastructure. In this assignment, you will be asked to identify the challenges to achieve equity in digital literacy by considering three aspects: policy, technical, and cultural. You will also need to propose solutions that could be used by related stakeholders.
