Introduction
You are a part of a global effort to increase access to education and empower students through “open pedagogy.” Open pedagogy is a “free access” educational practice that places you – the student – at the center of your own learning process in a more engaging, collaborative learning environment. The ultimate purpose of this effort is to achieve greater social justice in our community in which the work can be freely shared with the broader community. This is a renewable assignment that is designed to enable you to become an agent of change in your community through the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). For this work, you will integrate the disciplines of English Literature Study; Psychology; International Business Management to achieve SDG #05: Gender Equality. Target 5.1 End all forms of discrimination against all women and girls everywhere.
Learning Objectives
Reflect on the experience (from observation, stories, news, or any information they already know) about gender equality issues and their impact on well-being in any workplace setting.
Purpose/Rationale
This assignment is part of the students’ experiential learning and will help them open a new paradigm through insightful reflection. Moreover, it might improve awareness of gender equality and how it impacts good health and well-being in the workplace and local community organizations. Writing essays based on their experience will also improve their critical thinking and academic writing skills.

- Observe, find, or reflect on the situation at the workplace setting you are familiar with.
- Focus on the gender equality and well-being issues you can find.
- Write a reflective essay individually about the situation above, identify the problems, give your critical opinion, find a gap between the reality and how it should work well in the workplace setting and its challenges, and give the alternative solution at your best idea as an evaluation to improve the gender equality and well-being at the workplace.
- Write it in 1,000 words, and you can add any relevant resources.
Format Requirements
Assignment 1 is a reflective essay that should be submitted in PDF format, consisting of 1,000 words typed in Arial 11/Times New Roman 12/Calibri 12, space length 1.15. Students should add resources as a reference if necessary and use a reference manager for this using APA Style 7.0 for writing style guidance. Students may add relevant vignettes (pictures or graphs) related to the essay if required.
