Introduction

You are a part of a global effort to increase access to education and empower students through “open pedagogy.”  Open pedagogy is a “free access” educational practice that places you – the student – at the center of your own learning process in a more engaging, collaborative learning environment.  The ultimate purpose of this effort is to achieve greater social justice in our community in which the work can be freely shared with the broader community.  This is a renewable assignment that is designed to enable you to become an agent of change in your community through the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).  For this work, you will integrate the disciplines of Communication; Entrepreneurship to achieve SDG #4: Quality Education. Target 4.4: By 2030, substantially increase the number of youth and adults who have relevant skills, including technical and vocational skills, for employment, decent jobs and entrepreneurship. Target 4.4.1: Proportion of youth and adults with information and communications technology (ICT) skills, by type of skill

Learning Objectives

  • Analyze which SDGs are most relevant to their daily lives
  • Evaluate the impact of SDGs on personal and community levels
  • Create a personal journal documenting SDG awareness and issues
  • Communicate ideas regarding the benefits of SDGs effectively

Purpose/Rationale

Students will analyze which SGDs point that can be applied to their daily lives and repot to their personal journal. At the end of 2 months students will present their own SDGs reflections

Instructions

  • Identify relevant SDGs in daily life
  • Document SDG awareness and issues in a personal journal
  • Prepare a presentation showcasing SDG documentation
  • Create 3-minute video summarizing key insights

Format Requirements

  • The student must show their documentation in their presentation.
  • The video format must landscape and up to 1 minute and post to their social media
  • The Poster format must state the # or the short message in their assignment and post to their social media
