UNIT S1: BOOTSTRAP CONFIDENCE INTERVALS

In this section, we will look at confidence intervals using bootstrap re-sampling. Bootstrapping is particularly useful when data is sampled from an unknown distribution. Unlike the normal and t-distributions used in UNIT 4, Bootstrapping requires fewer assumptions for inference.

TOPICS COVERED
  • Bootstrap Population
  • Resampling Procedure
  • CI using Percentile Method
  • CI using Plug-in Method
LEARNING OUTCOMES
  • Calculate and interpret confidence intervals using bootstrap re-sampling methods
  • Use technology to calculate confidence intervals
