UNIT 9: CHI-SQUARE TESTS

Chi-square distribution, [latex]\chi^2[/latex], is extremely important in statistics as many test statistics follow that distribution. We will use Chi-square distribution to test for independence relating to categorical variables.

TOPICS COVERED
  • Chi-Square Test of Independence
LEARNING OUTCOMES
  • Interpret the Chi-square probability distribution as the sample size changes
  • Conduct and interpret Chi-square test of independence hypothesis tests
  • Use technology (Graphing calculators, Excel, R, etc.) to perform hypothesis tests using Chi-square distribution
