Learning Objectives
Using MC Library resources, students will analyze how one U.S. domestic OR foreign policy from the U.S. 2024 General Election that has been politicized.
Purpose/Rationale
Instructions
Identify one foreign (e.g. U.S. aid to Taiwan, U.S. aid to Ukraine, U.S. aid to Israel), OR domestic policy (immigration, law and order, abortion) that you think has been politicized during the 2024 presidential campaign. Explain how your selected policy has been politicized by providing 1-2 direct examples of how U.S. major and/or minor parties have discussed this policy. Include the position of at least 1 (2 is preferable) special interest group(s) on your selected position. In your description, make sure to include what the interest group is hoping to achieve. Lastly, attempt to rate how important this issue is to the current U.S. electorate. Use sources that strive to maintain non-partisanship such as Pew Research to complete this final task. Share your findings with the class by 11:59pm on Wednesday, date x. Write a follow-up post in reaction to a peer or instructor comment by 11:59pm on Friday, date y.
Format Requirements
This is a DL course that exclusively uses Blackboard as the primary method of uploading assignments, communication with the instructor/peers, and to view content materials. Therefore, students will be completing this assignment through the Blackboard discussion forum feature.
