Learning Objectives
Students collect the data from the museum and research the object. Students will reflect on the piece of object and relate it to the topic of intersectionality of race, class and gender.
Purpose/Rationale
Instructions
This phase is experiential learning. Students will visit the Smithsonian museums to study the objects. Students will also choose an exhibition to attend. The object should be researched and correspond to the prompts. Students are provided with three prompts to relate the object to their personal experience, current or global events, or course objectives/modules.
Format Requirements
Students will submit notes on their field trip. There is a requirement of 2-page written assignment.
Rubric/Criteria
For this phase, students will earn 10% out of a total of 30% research assignment.
