Introduction

Montgomery College is committed to fostering innovation, inclusion, and academic success. Through partnerships and continuous investment in professional development, the College remains dedicated to providing its faculty with the tools and resources necessary to enhance the student experience. In collaboration with the Office of Academic Initiatives, MC Online is proud to present the eFaculty Fellowship for Dual Enrollment, an initiative designed to support full-time and part-time faculty interested in learning transformational teaching practices that promote the success of high school students in dual enrollment programs.

As part of the fellowship, faculty members are encouraged to develop assignments that reflect the principles of open education, student engagement, and equity. These assignments integrate high-impact practices (HIPs), such as collaborative projects, service learning, and undergraduate research, to strengthen students’ connections to the course material and academic community. By incorporating open educational resources, the fellowship ensures that dual enrollment students have access to the resources they need to succeed, regardless of their backgrounds or circumstances.

This book showcases the assignments created by faculty through their participation in the eFaculty Fellowship for Dual Enrollment, highlighting their dedication to improving student engagement, academic performance, and overall success. These assignments exemplify the creativity, collaboration, and commitment that define Montgomery College’s mission to provide transformative educational experiences.

The fellowship program continues to strengthen the College’s dedication to advancing innovative teaching practices. By fostering a community of faculty committed to student success, the fellowship not only enhances the educational experience for dual enrollment students but also contributes to the ongoing growth of Montgomery College’s teaching and learning environment.
