6 Global Issue Capstone Presentation

Erika Bucciantini

Cohort 2024

Learning Objectives

This will bring all the skills together in a final presentation.

Purpose/Rationale

Students who select to record their presentations may choose to add their recordings to my Learning Lab site in which I already have several student recordings. As these students are minors, there is no expectation they add their work.

Instructions

In-class presentation: research a global issue from the perspective of a social science, one big idea, and location (e.g. global warming, sociology, and equity in Australia; food, anthropology, and culture in Asia; poverty, economics, and civic life in South America)—using college resources, research skills, digital tools and literacy, critical thinking, and oral speaking skills. Feedback to peers.

Format Requirements

This will further develop the students’ presentation skills from assignment 1 and thinking from assignment 2. Same topic as assignment 2 so research is already in hand. Five-minute presentation using some kind of PowerPoint-esk application.
