This assignment is designed for EDUC243 processes and acquisition of Reading. This class is required for pre-service and in-service teachers as part of the Associate of Arts in Teaching Degree. Dual enrollment students engage in virtually interactive assignments developing skills and the relationships necessary for academic and career success. The class focuses on pedagogy for literacy development. In this course and for these assignments which are scaffold, the objectives are:

Instructions
Design a virtual/digital Classroom for literacy development with a personalized bitmoji; select books for your digital library. This assignment requires learners to reflect on their own personal style and think about a theme or an issue that is important to them. The assignment will be completed over several weeks. The assignment requires three levels of engagement and scaffolding of content. d. Individual e. Team f.

Individually, learners must first develop a bitmoji which will serve as their image or representative in this virtual/digital reading classroom. Based on the best practices and reading research, learners will use technology to create a digital learning environment that supports the development of literacy skills. Individually, learners are required to choose a theme or topic of interest. Learners are asked to investigate the world of digital libraries and ebooks on the topic that they have chosen. Learners must identify three different books related to their chosen theme to include in their digital library. Digital/ebooks must have links to allow the class to listen to and watch the reading of the book. The books must be a

In this assignment, dual enrollment students are allowed to be creative. After designing their bitmoji using the Bitmoji application. Learners will develop their virtual reading classroom. Learners will dream and create a reading room for a world of their interest. Learners will design the room based on a theme of choice. This assignment is time consuming so learners will work on time management strategies for completing a multi-level project. Learners will learn about scope and sequence and the necessity to plan carefully for teaching virtually. This lesson allows for ownership in design as learners may search the world wide web for steps on how to design your Bitmoji Classroom and to brainstorm ideas for what you would like to place in their reading classroom.
