We wish to express our gratitude and appreciation for the help and support of Dr. Robert E. Parilla, President, Montgomery College; Dr. Charlene R. We of course are grateful to our colleagues in retirement who gladly wrote about their recollections and reminiscences of the years they spent at the College. Without their contributions there would have been no book!

We regret that the constraints of a publishing schedule precluded inviting faculty and administrators who retired at the end of the spring semester 1986 to prepare essays for this publication.

It has been an honor and a pleasure to serve as the editors of From Acorn to Oak and thus to be involved in the celebration of the 40th Anniversary of Montgomery College.
